St. Nicholas’ Church has undergone extensive refurbishment and repairs over the past year, thanks to funding from ‘The English Heritage Lottery Fund‘. As part of their funding agreement, there is a requirement for the church to be accessible to the public on a regular basis. To see when public viewing of the church’s interior is available – go to Public Open Days and times.
Our caretaker is around and can let you into the church if you wish to visit or have private prayer on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 7:15am to 9:15am and Thursdays from 7:15am to 12 noon.
In addition, on Wednesdays, the church will be also be open from around 8.45am for people to come and meet for a chat and a cuppa. Free tea and coffee will be available at the back of the church. This is open to anyone and everyone. The aim is to just open the church more and more and offer hospitality and a space to meet.
From around 9.30am there will be an opportunity to pause for a time of prayer …. or if you’d like to you can write a prayer and put it on our prayer tree.
At 10.15am the regular Wednesday Eucharist is held in the Council Chamber, off the main church hall, if you wish to stay.
Please do come along….. and tell your friends too.
Janet Roberts, Vicar
