Our beautiful Grade II Listed Church was open over the first weekend of September. We welcomed over 80 visitors who enjoyed guided tours by our trained Heritage Volunteers. Children enjoyed age related trails around church. A selection of printed booklets and information sheets were available free to the public showing the main features in church.
We were particularly fortunate to hear some professional musicians being perfomed throughout the weekend. Our sincere thanks to Edwin Paling, (former leader of the Royal Scottish National Orchestra for 34 years), and Rosalin Lazaroff (the orchestra’s former Principal Second Violin for 18 years), Kirsty Ligertwood playing the piano and Freddie Ligertwood for singing, and for the organists Mike Foy, Patric Mercer and Bill Wolfenden.
Refreshments were available throughout the opening times, and our thanks to those who made donations to the church Restoration/Heritge Fund. If you missed the weekend then why not check out our ‘Heritage’ opening times on Visit Us
