A huge thank you to Pat and Ian and other helpers who have made our church grounds grow and flourish into a peaceful and enjoyable space. The hard work has paid off! Congratulations on being awarded ‘Highly Commended‘ in the Crosby and Waterloo in Bloom Community Gardens 2019.
After nearly seven years, The Rev’d Canon Janet Roberts has now officially retired as vicar at St. Nicholas’ and has moved to Aughton, Lancashire. Her leaving service in early September was attended by many of the congregation, friends and family. We welcomed The Bishop of Liverpool, Paul Bayes, who preached the sermon. A presentation was made to Janet at the farewell lunch of hand made bird feeder for her garden. We shall miss Janet’s wisdom and friendliness very much. Please pray for Janet as she enters a new stage in her life. We wish her a very happy and healthy retirement. At her retirement lunch, when asked about how she felt, her reply was ‘To me, this is just the next stage of my journey with God, He will help me through and will show me the way.’
