2024 – 150th Church Anniversary
Over the past 3 years, this beautiful mosaic of St. Nicholas’ Church has been in the making; designed and created by local artist and teacher Shelagh McNicholas – and aided by many members of our community. Our grateful thanks to Shelagh for all the time and energy she has put into this project.

On Sunday 29th September, we welcomed Bishop of Liverpool, John Perumbalath, The Lord-Lieutenant of Merseyside, Mark Blundell, and local MP Bill Esterson who joined us in our celebratory communion of 150 years of St. Nicholas……….followed by a delicious buffet!

Saturday 28th September – Our ‘Fun Day’ of activities in church and the gardens. The Anchor was made from sea glass collected from Crosby beach. Plastic milk containers were made into beach and nature scenes. All good recycling projects and fun too!!
Wednesday 25th September, the actual 150th birthday, we held a ‘Special Thanksgiving Service’ followed by a ‘Cheese and Wine’ supper.

On Sunday 22nd September, St. Nicholas’ School and church came together for a celebration service for all the family – with party balloons. (We will also remember the spectacle of the cupboards nearly falling off the wall! Fortunately help was at hand!)

Over the 2 National Heritage weekends we opened the church to welcome our community for talks, guided tours and see the exhibition on the history of our St. Nicholas’ School.
