Governance, PCC and Sub-Committees

The Governance of the church is the responsibility of the Parochial Church Council (PCC, and who are also the managing trustees of the charity) and comprise the Vicar, the 2 Church Wardens (ex-officio), the Treasurer (ex-officio), the PCC Secretary, 2 Deanery Synod representatives together with members of the church who are elected at the Annual Parochial Church Meeting (APCM).

At the APCM, the Trustees Annual Report & Accounts are presented for adoption by members of the church and are then submitted to the Diocese and the Charity Commission.  The latest accounts can be viewed here.

The St. Nicholas’ Church is a registered charity (No: 1158819) and is subject to the laws and practice of the Church of England.  We are part of the south Sefton Deanery within the Diocese of Liverpool.

The PCC meets bi-monthly and in between its meetings sub-committees meet, these being: Finance, Mission and Worship, Building & Plant, Social, Restoration, Under 18s and Heritage, which include at least one member of the PCC and co-opted members for each committee.
