Regular catering needs: weekly coffee rota; refreshments after special services (eg Carol Service, Harvest Lunch); refreshments during concerts and occasional external meetings held at St Nicholas’ (eg Deanery Synod).
Social events: organise regular events such as plant sale, fairs, quizzes etc; plan and organise new or special events, especially any big fund-raising events.
Decide priorities: Is the purpose of an event purely social or is it largely fund-raising? What balance do we want between the two? Who is it for?
Liaise with organisers of community events (eg Music Festival, exhibitions etc).
Liaise with Worship and Mission Sub-committee regarding social/catering implications of any activities promoting external links, mission and outreach.
Foster fellowship within all parts of the church, publicise events and any help needed, in order to involve more people in organising, catering and having fun.
