St. Nicholas is the patron saint of children, among others, and we as a church want to be a welcoming place for young people to grow in faith. Our young people are the church’s future. We believe time and energy invested in them is crucial to their Christian well-being and development of their Faith.
During services, our Children’s Corner is available at the back of church with pew bags, colouring, activity sheets, toys and books for our younger members. Activity sheets fit in with the Bible readings or theme of the day. St. Nicholas’ Church has many groups devoted to our young people, from toddlers right through to older teenage children, supported and led by committed adults from within our church family.
In October 2014, the Diocese presented St. Nicholas’ with the ‘Child Friendly Award’, having satisfied the Diocese on setting up many child related policies and procedures. We support and strive to implement the ‘Diocesan Child Protection Guidelines’ in all our children’s work.
Having a Child Friendly status says that our church displays to our community that ministry for children and their families is taken seriously. To find out more about this status go to http://www.liverpool.anglican.org/CFCA.
